If I had knocked you out (as the Cleveland GM in this) and hijacked the pick (as a disgruntled Browns fan, in this here mock), I would pick Watkins and then immediately start talking to Tennessee or Washington about Locker and Cousins, respectively.
In my opinion, they could solidify the weapons they need for a new QB, then find that QB either later in the draft, or get a guy like Locker or Cousins who are likely to be trade bait from their current teams.
OR what if the Browns took Watkins (#4) then waited for Carr @ #26 (their 2nd first round pick)?
If Carr was selected prior to #26, then maybe the Browns could make a QB trade such as the one you suggest... Bc

With the 6th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft...the Atlanta Falcons are thrilled to select Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo.

Great pick. Mack is gonna be a stud

I'm one of those who believes Mack will have a better career than Clowney.

It's possible. I still like Clowney better but it's very close

I know there's no trades, but I could see one coming here with the Bucs at #7. While they can easily take Mike Evans to replace Mike Williams...A Tackle needy team could make an offer to move up and grab Matthews or Robinson here.

In this scenario, I agree. Interesting to see if the top tackles fall this far as it would be very beneficial to the ravens. I'm in the camp that would be happy with them taking Lewan at 17, and if the draft unfolds as this one has, he just may make it that far

Heck most posters on this board don't want the Ravens extending contracts of players with 2 years left on their contract, even if fully healthy.
You missed my point.
His injuries are likely why they didn't extend him, but are also possibilities for why they may want to move on.

Not to sound like my 5th grade English teacher, but can we change "Bortels" to "Bortles"? LOL. It's been driving me crazy. Thanks.
