so did a lot of people who aren't convicted

The only scenario possible is one where Hernandez admits he was there, but he didn't fire the shots, didn't get out of the car, and didn't know why they were driving out there or that it was going to happen. And even then he has the cover-up (and failure to report what he witnessed, etc.) to deal with. He is toast, imo, even with expensive lawyers.
While there isn't much evidence he, vs. one of the others, fired the shots, there is overwhelming evidence he was at the scene of the murder.
I agree. Especially considering the way the night played out, e.g. they drove to deserted area, Hernandez summoned Lloyd, Hernandez had opportunities (gas station, etc.) to leave.
It would be one thing if you were just driving in a car with some dudes on a random night, when suddenly one of them shot and killed another. In that instance, one could argue that everyone else in the car should not be charged with murder (even if the argument might fail), but that is not even remotely what the evidence shows here. There won't be a single juror who is confused about how the night played out and why they drove to the deserted warehouse. Everyone in that car is guilty to some degree or another, and Hernandez is the guiltiest of them all.
