I'm starting to become pretty comfortable with Lane Johnson.
Unfortunately, with Lewan and Matthews returning, Johnson may have been pulled up into the high teens-low twenties range.
Also, I'm starting to get comfortable with the possibility of Margus Hunt in the first round, yes he is very raw, but he is a freak of nature, and could be great if he develops his potential, and we have some pretty damn good coaches that can help him.
We need a separating WR. One that can create space with his feet or body.
Of course, I loved the big plays vs. DEN but damn Joe shouldn't have to needle every single pass under 30 yards ffs.
This kid from EWU looks intriguing at 6'5 215 with enough production for two or three WRs. Not as fast, but looks to be more polished than Streeter was coming out. I'm sure he has better hands too with the numbers of receptions in his career.
The highlights at the links are on ESPN, so there's an annoying 10 second commercial prior to each one.
I'm all aboard the Kevin Minter train. When it's all said and done i think he's going to be one of the best linebackers (if not the best) to get drafted this year
Also, in regards to Lewan, let him do what he wants. If he enjoys college that much, he should stay. Nobody else is entitled to make the decision for him.
I mentioned small school LT Luke Marquadt a couple days ago, i found a video of him here. It's really for the QB but you can see a lot of his LT. Huge 6'9'' guy that has good feet, def. has some tools to work with. www.youtube.com/watch?v=In_Ury-FjzQ
The first 3-4 picks should all be for the front 7 and a LT.
Or we could re-sign Bryant McKinnie for another year, and just completely focus on the front 7...
Kindle's brain injury was a freak thing, whether it was because he was drunk or purely an accident you can't make a future decision based on that decision not working out. Jimmy Smith has been perfectly clean off the field as far as we know--that decision looks like it won't pan out not because of his character but because of his play on the field.
I don't see those concerns with Da'Rick Rogers. His background check has to come through clean, he has to interview well, and he has to overcome the presumption that he's got problems. But if he does that I would have no problem with spending a 2nd round pick on him. In terms of his actual football ability I have him graded as my #1 receiver in the class although not necessarily my favorite receiver. If he pans out to his upside I think he has Julio Jones type potential.
Those are big IFs, but McKinnie's play over the last 2 games can't be underrated. He has been unbelievable.
McKinnie has played really well...but are the cosches really going to want to deal with him again this off season? Also, how do we know he isnt just playing hard now for a new contract that maybe the Ravens wont be able to give him?
There are a lot of questions going into this off-season. I still think Ellerbe and Kruger are the top priorities after Flacco.
