Re: 98 Rock Plans to fly banner over Heinz Field on Sunday
University of Michigan Athletic Dept paid several thousand dollars for a skywriter to write "Go Blue" in the skies above East Lansing, MI. As this was happening UM was about to lose to Toledo at home until Toledo choked in waning minutes.
UM was rightfully skewered in the press for it.
Pride comes before the fall...
edit: Oh and then MSU alumni "in protest" raised ~10x that amount and donated it to charity.
Sounds like radio station is doing the right thing...

They said this morning it was all refunded.

Fans of the 49ers have raised more than $8,000 to purchase a billboard in Seattle aimed at taunting residents with images of the five Super Bowl trophies the 49ers have won as a franchise, the San Jose Mercury News reported.
Less than a hundred 49ers fans showed up last year to send their team to the frickin' Super Bowl, yet they feel the need to insult a Seahawk Fanbase that foams at the mouth like rabid dogs and shakes their stadium to it's very foundations every home game! They don't even have the balls to do it in person, they have to use an anonymous billboard. What a bunch of pussies! smhiufdb
Re: 98 Rock Plans to fly banner over Heinz Field on Sunday
Suggested banners:
"Happy ... Thanksgiving ... from ... W ... ... K ... ... R ... ... P"
"Surrender Tomlin"
BS

Please don't pay for a plane and banner message at Hinz Field. It will make both the Ravens organization and our Fans look very bad. The timing is way off. If we had swept the Steelers and clinched the Division it would be one thing, but doing something like this is beneath the Ravens organization and Baltimore Fans. Also, anyone who has been to Heinz Field knows that 98% of the fans there are pretty cool. The trouble making Steeler fans live here and in Southern PA. Those folks are the ones that "deserve" your message & they'll never see it. Please give the money you raised to Toys for Tots! Much cooler.
Thanks,

Now there's an idea. Next Thanksgiving we drop turkeys all over downtown Pittsburgh as a goodwill gesture from Baltimore!

Damn good thing this idea was scrapped. It was a bad idea to begin with, but can you imagine if that banner was flying while the Steelers were down on the field knocking us out of the playoffs -- which is entirely possible?
Re: 98 Rock Plans to fly banner over Heinz Field on Sunday
Karma for the stupid idea in the 1st place.
Stay classy Baltimore

Yep. A really bad idea from the get-go, presumably dreamed up by a stoned intern. Could've backfired big time. Definitely glad it was scrapped.
