BTW Seph - NBC was at the stadium earlier, filming a video postcard for Michael Phelps in Beijing. Kinda weird to hear the fans going berserk while the Vikings successfully kicked a FG.

I only saw bits and pieces of the first half, but Smith played the whole half and only threw five passes? It looked to me like the Vikings held the ball a lot, but even so, five passes? I was hoping to get a better look at him than that, because I already know he can run. He might even be a little too eager to run, although the pass protection might have something to do with that, as in last weeks game.

On if the Ravens are a better football team now than when they started camp: “Oh yes, we’re a better football team. How much better is yet to be determined, but we’re getting better out there.”
-10 maybe? -20? Just think of how bad they must have been going into camp.
Rice takes the kick. Gets to the 20. Boller time.
Poor POOR penalty call!
1st, give to Rice, gain of 6. Kid is good.
2nd and 4, complete to McClain, to the 34. Penalty on Rice for a chop block. Announcers and myself think its a bad call.
2nd and 17, screen to Rice, loses 1 or 2. Offense isn't built for this.
3rd, checkdown to Rice, gets 10 and they will punt.
Highwater - with both starting OTs out, they've been hesitant to put Troy in a life-threatening situation on a regular basis. Frequently, when he has gone back to pass, he's either had to scramble or get sacked.
BS
Sheesh, we can't even punt well tonight.
It only hit his one hand as Clayton was reaching back for it.
But yeah, you prefer a better throw there from any QB. It's maybe more frustrating because it seems like both Minnesota QB's could make that throw tonight.
EDIT: JEESH!!! Even Brooks Bollinger can make these 19 yard throws!!
I guess my other problem is that Smith's line is this: 3/5 for 25 yards and 1 INT. Yes, Smith ran like the wind. But how in the world do you evaluate Troy Smith based on 5 passes in a whole half???
I have a feeling unless Boller just implodes, this QB competition may not be over yet and we'll have to go through this crap again next week.
Vikes at the Ravens 47.
1st, overthrown on the screen, falls incomplete.
2nd, PA, Bollinger complete to the 29 for a first.
I realize that, BS -- I mentioned in my post that we had pass protection issues last week, too.Quote:
