New Feature - My Smilies

OK, now that the hols are over, we're going to start cranking the fun factor up a bit with some cool new features.

The first one is for those of you who complain about the choice of smilies.

How about this - upload 40 of YOUR favorite smilies to use as you wish.

If you go to your User CP and page down, on the LHS you will see a new category: 'My Smilies'.

Upload up to 40 and give each a shortcut. And don't worry, all the ones that are available now will still be there.

This will only work for members who have reached a minimal number of posts and membership tenure. Newbs will have to wait a few days and contribute some wisdom.

When I tried to use the link from webpage I got the error "Remote file is too large"

Yes, initially you are limited to 60x60 pixels and (I think) 3Kb which should be small enough for a smiley.

We will review and maybe permit larger smileys later on after we test this out.

Also, if you save the smiley and upload it, the smiley has a white box around it as if it's part of the image.

Example: Uploaded smiley :firemad:

You would need a transparent gif for that one. Or we would have to run a white background.
