How bout actually giving the folks the article next time? ;)
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...waist-in-2013/
they should look at cut blocks and chop blocks but King saying 'all blocks below the wait' is a bit much IMO. Time will tell
Flag football anyone?
Well, if this goes through, it would end the use of the zone blocking scheme in the NFL. Numerous team would have to completely redesign their offenses to compensate, including the Ravens. It would be HUGELY significant in terms of competitive balance... and I'm not a fan of that.
I don't understand this at all. It sounds like a terrible, terrible idea to me.
Call me cynical, but I just cant see the NFL making any major rules change that would give a major advantage to defenses.
This could conceivably END the runing gname as we know it.
OMG! If this is true it will end football as we know it. Goodbye running game!
In Peter King's MMQB a couple of weeks ago he said many coaches in the NFL have said you can't run the ball without blocking below the waist.
yeah I just don't believe they would go that far. Tweak some of the rules, OK but you can't ban blocking below the waist
I'm not sure if I'd be able to watch football if this happens. :grbac:
This story has as much validity to it as the claims (by PFT I might add) a few years ago that the NFL was "considering" eliminating kick offs.
It's a non story.
