McNabb retiring as an Eagle
Wishful thinking on someone's part?
Philadelphia Eagles @Eagles 23m
Future #Eagles Hall of Fame QB @donovanjmcnabb: To the fans, I truly love you. I gave everything I had. #EaglesHonor5
The future HOF part, who thinks he's gonna make it into the Hall of Fame?

Five years ago I would have said "almost definitely". Three years ago I would have said "probably". Today, I say "hmmmmmm..."
Re: McNabb retiring as an Eagle
If it was the Hall of Very Good, yes he'd make it.
Re: McNabb retiring as an Eagle
I don't think so.

Re: McNabb retiring as an Eagle
I just looked at his stats and saw that he never threw for 4,000 yards and only had +30 TD's
once. He had some good years but he won't be getting in before Brady, Manning, or Brees. Then you would have to compare him to guys like Roethlisberger, E. Manning and even Kurt Warner, all of whom went to multiple Superbowls and at least one. He was very good, but he could have a hard time distinguishing himself.
This pretty much says it all:

Without looking at stats and just my memory of his play, I'd say no. I just didn't see a hall of famer. Too many memories ( or perception) of a choker.

He could get in before Brady, Manning and Brees theoretically because he retired before them, and they are not on the same ballot. Who gets into a Hall of Fame assuming the player is good is a matter of timing.
I do not see him getting into the Hall of Fame. I am going by feel.
Re: McNabb retiring as an Eagle
I think it depends on who he is up against in voting. IMO McNabb is definitely not a first ballot HOFer. He just wasn't THAT great. He had a great career, but he's not one of the top QBs of the past 15 years.
