I wouldn't have. it would have been wild to see a replay of that awesome runback he did a few years ago. But more realistically making a play on the ball could have cost field position if it backfired.
IIRC, the 100 yard runback came right at the end of the first half, which is why CMac was back there. The Ravens would not have gotten the ball back anyway so it didn't cost anything having him in the endzone.
I thought I saw a Raven back in the endzone on that field goal kick, I was watching on TV though and the pulled back shot made the person in the endzone appear to be about 3 inches tall.
A Raven was definitely back there. They looked up and just watched the ball sail by. That kick would have been good from at least 60 with the wind.
Ed Reed was back there.
Well damn, I wonder how I missed him...
The long FG that was made, that one Ed Reed was definitely back for. If that's the one you are thinking of, then yeah he was back there. He was right under the goal posts only a yard at most from the end line.
Greg is correct. Reed was back there. that FG was in the endzone closest to my seat.
I am actually a little surprised Billick thought it was worthwhile to have Reed back. Since we would get the ball at the 44-yard line with 1:17 sec to go in the half, a return probably was a poor risk. Ed Reed is an amazing talent, and my favorite player, but I would have been hoping he would not have returned that kick.
What made the McAlister situation special was the fact that the kick came on the last play of the half.
