Thoughts on whats happening in Egypt.
I know our old friend Galen has an entire omelet on his face from this one.
Conservatives were yelling from the roof tops that once Morsi took power, it would be disastrous. Well, now we have this shit show.
I wonder what happened to Galen.
Something tells me that things won't go smoothly even if a new guy comes into power.
He started polluting the scout boards instead with his race baiting ad hominem venom. He's the same old G7 for sure. Still believes in MMGW, and assumes that you have to be anti -science not to, still is as much if not more racist then AKA while claiming that means we all are racist... ya know, Galen being Galen.
Galen got whacked here for slinging an insult toward NC. It was his first and only infraction and he wasn't banned, but he went crying over to scout. He's made himself out to be a martyr there.
He did a drive-by post here when Obama won reelection but he's yet to show his face back around here. He and Trap still tussle over on scout.
Looks like we have a military coup over there. I think Morsi is under arrest, or at the very least has been told by the military that he is no longer President.
Galen is crediting Obama for his master diplomacy re this incident. LOL
This interests me a good deal, a lot more than discussing the extremists. I know very little about it though outside the 30m protest and eventual military take over. Wasnt morsi voted in democratically? Was there crazy fraud or something to have that many protest? Im a little lost on the history but am intrigued.
Yep Morsi was the first democratically elected President of Egypt. But Morsi was basically a puppet of the Muslim Brotherhood.
He kept the old constitution in affect while a new one was drafted...effecting granting himself immunity. He was called Egypt's new pharaoh by local media for this. Even when the new constitution was written it still granted him the same powers.
He pissed his military leaders off my calling for armed support to the Syrian rebels. Egypt's military views it's role as only to defend Egypt's borders. He lost a lot of high ranking military support after that.
Had a controversy when remarks he made some years ago came to light. Said the Zionists have no right to the land of Palestine and that they were descendants of apes and pigs.
He very much favored Islamic Law being State Law.
