I'm starting to think he should. Ross's muffed punt scared the shit out of me.
If he does it in the Playoffs we are screwed

Yes...Absolutely.
If you are worried about getting 89 hurt, look no further than the ballsy head coach of the filthy Eagles.
He routinely puts in his best player (Westbrook).
If you ask me...that shows some real guts.
Yeah Clayton should be returning punts. If we're worried about him getting tired, it's not like we can't line up Heap, Williams and Mason if we really need to go three wide after the return.
Besides he's more likely to get injured running a route and catching the ball than returning it.
Ross worries me. I think Billick needs to seriously consider Clayton.
After what we've seen from Ross, how can it not be Clayton?
Mason wants to be more involved...put him back there.
Somebody needs to....C. Ross sure ain't getting it done:thumbdown:
Clayton for PR and Mason for KR.
Ross is scary-bad. Anyone that wants to let Sams go after this year should be looking hard at what's going on right now. Sams is a really good returner. Ross is what you get when you let guys like Sams go...

I just recently noticed how Dallas is using Terrence Newman to return punts, pretty risky putting one of the Top Corners in the league in the punt return game, but it seems to work.
Yes, put Clayton back there. He definitely has the potential to have a big return, and there's no question that he'd be a big improvement over Ross.
Why is Ross even on the roster? Seriously, if his only reason for taking up a spot is because he's our backup punt returner, then that's an iffy reason. He's okay returning kickoffs but he's been awful returning punts.

Should Clayton return punts in the Playoffs?
If you all remember 2002 we put C Mac in to return punts. During a punt return during the Atlanta game he fielded the ball at about the 5 yard line and was injured on the play. I think he suffered a high ankle sprain and was out for about 6 games after that.
You may call it an irrational fear, but I do not want history to repeat itself. Right now Clayton is the Ravens most productive receiver. Do not diminish his importance in the overall offence. I think if he goes down the team would miss him immensely.
