1st Wembley Game Denver @ 49ers
Just announced on SKY that the first Wembley game is the 49ers hosting the Broncos. 49ers have a big fan base here.
The interview concluded with talk about the 'second' game, which came as only a 'possibility' and that negtotiations are 'still underway'. From this we should conclude that it involves a playoff team (eg US !!!) but it's not a done deal.
I think the chance of a Wembley home is for the Ravens is linked to our Superbowl Run.
I'm not sure which way it would go - but showcasing the current Superbowl Champions would go a long way to selling tickets over here.

Would be so great if we get the second game. If we beat the Colts and make the AFC Champ game I'd say we'll be in with a very solid chance.
Re: 1st Wembley Game Denver @ 49ers
Surprised at this news to be honest, thought it was definitely going to be the Eagles @ 49ers!
As for the 2nd game...I think it's obvious that we're in with a shout, I'm not sure how much the Colts game will affect it however - it's probably been agreed already, but they're just waiting for the chosen side to bow out of the playoffs one way or another - fingers crossed though! :)
Re: 1st Wembley Game Denver @ 49ers
Ignore my e-mail summising a load of rubbish, I've been in Dunstable all week doing some work and didn't realise it was 49ers vs Broncos, thought it was 49ers & Broncos as home teams.
It would appear I'm an idiot.

Please don't say things like that Stockers, we know you too well.
The point I was making about the play-off factor works both ways:
a) Play-off calibre / Superbowl team hosting = big ticket seller.
or
b)A Play-off+ team gets prime-time TV slots next season. The Wembley game is not Prime Time (1pm ko), and may have little interest in the US - if that is the market you are really after.:patriot:
The Denver / 49ers game is for two teams who did not make the play-offs and would not get these slots.
The Ravens therefore have a legitimate reason for saying that they did NOT want to host.
It is likely that negotiation started when we looking anything other than a play-off team.
Re: 1st Wembley Game Denver @ 49ers
If the criteria for a home match are NOT a division game and NOT a game against a team that has already played at Wembley in can only be Buffalo:grbac:
So it's not us, unless we are the away team :ww: ?
Re: 1st Wembley Game Denver @ 49ers
Falcons, Panthers, Jets & Texans away ???
All good match-ups?
Will the Jets want to leave their new stadium?
Texans owe the NFL for existing !
Panthers would like more fans, so would the Falcons.
Just wondering?
