Bill Cowher may show a bias towards the Steelers, but he will show respect when it is deserved. Everybody got to see that, when the pressure was on, Joe was willing and able to make 'the' throw. The fact that the throw was dropped (Which, for an eight year veteran and former pro bowler, a strip constitutes) does not change the reality that you can win a Championship with Joe Flacco.
Kind of hard to NOT say this when the guy was a dropped pass away from the Super Bowl last year.
It's pretty obvious, of course you can. It's not even a a credible debate given last seasons play offs. I think that Flacco can't win a championship in the same style that an Aaron Rogers or Peyton Manning could win it, Flacco has to be put in the right position to succeed, similar to what Houston do with Matt Shaubb. That's not saying he's a Trent Difler either, I think Flacco is much better than a mere game manager, but the scheme has to be right, and there needs to be plenty of Ray Rice factored in to any form of SB run we may have, whether that be this year, or in 3 years from now.
Truth!
I was thinking along similar lines when I read down to your post.
Cowher isn't really saying much other that Flacco is decent.
You can win a championship with Ferotte
You can win a championship with Dilfer
You can win a championship with Plunkett
You can win a championship with Marino (oops, no you can't, not anymore, age caught him)
He is not saying Flacco can win you a championship. If he were saying that this would be a different thread, Cowher is only recognizing Flacco at the level under that, and your comment of 'Obvious' is spot on, Cowher said nothing that isn't obvious to all but the blind.
